Two years ago I tried to cope with the loss of heat in the house and used aluminium foil, it repels sunlight well and effectively protects from the wind. But such insulation did not last even a year, the foil cracked and peeled off. Last year, after weighing all the pros and cons, I nevertheless decided to order a ready-made door, since the doors produced today are already insulated. Even glass is insulated with nitrogen or something like that. They have been with me for a year now, and while I can’t talk about their shortcomings, the winter went well, the isolation withstood all the bad weather.
But if you really want to insulate a door you already have installed, use aluminium foil and perhaps hang a blanket so that it closes the doors and helps to keep warm and cold.
