DWDM Mux Demux factory Datasheet: Configuration 1 Please feel free to contact us for datasheet and factory price via shawn@arkoptics.com Arkoptics 40CH DWDM Mux is a high density, low loss and standalone passive optical module that provides excellent solution for infrastructure savings by aggregating all 40 DWDM channels at a single site. All 40 channels are spreading over the C-band per ITU-T 100GHz spacing between channels using high quality TFF technology. We use skip filters to ensure the ultra low channel attenuation and pair link attenuation both Mux and Demux modules. We all know that DWDM solutions above 16 channel will much more prefer to AWG or AAWG technology, because this technology features better channel insertion loss uniformity and more cost-effective for high channel solutions. But our TFF 40CH DWDM Mux solutions will have advantage on much lower system attenuation loss (port-to-port), ie pair link loss. The channel loss of our 40 channel DWDM multiplexers will be 4.5dB to 5.0dB max, and the pair link loss is max 7.0dB because TFF technology can balance the attenuation loss of mux and demux modules. However, same channel loss 5.0dB by AWG technology, its pair link loss will be 10dB which is double the channel loss. Another advantage of TFF technology is that we can present Monitor port, 1310nm port and Extension port for optional in same 40CH DWDM system. These functional ports are internal-integrated with the 40 channel DWDM filters, they will be much more practical and the attenuation loss will be well balanced at the same time. This page we will introduce our 40 channel DWDM mux and demux solution products. Please turn to our 16ch DWDM pages for how to calculate the point-to-point / port-to-port and system attenuation loss or just email us by shawn@arkoptics.com. Technical Data Application 10G DWDM network up to 100km transmisson Multiple 40G DWDM network up to 40km 200G DWDM network up to 100km transmission Overlaying 10Gbps Networks with Additional 40Gbps or 100Gbps Services How to add 40Gbps and 100Gbps services to the existing metro networks without effecting the legacy installation? In fact, just need to plug 40G or 100G fiber optic transceiver into the terminal equipment (Ethernet switch, router etc.), then use the patch cable to connect it to the existing DWDM network via a 1310nm band pass port on the DWDM multiplexer. Since the 1310nm band port is integrated into a 40 channels 100GHz DWDM multiplexer, then this set-up allows the transport of up to 40 x10Gbps plus 100Gbps over one fiber pair, in total 500Gbps, but without replacing any infrastructure. Passive Transparent, Any Rate, Any Service Multiplexing Multiplexing up to 40 channels on fiber pair, DWDM Mux Demux can maximize the use of the fiber by splitting one single cable into multiple traffic channels and simultaneously transport multiple data channels. It can be use with colored transceivers for various applications such as 1G/10G/25G/40G/100G Ethernet, SDH/SONET,4/8/16/32G Fibre Channel, OTU3 and OTU4, etc. Also it can interconnect seamlessly with EDFA, OLP, OEO and third party WDM products which make it an ideal solution for metro, long haul and DCI FAQ Q: Can the 40CH DWDM Mux Demux be customized with EXP port? If we connect the CWDM to EXP port, can we use some of the CWDM waves then? A: Yes, it can be customized with EXP port and connected with CWDM Mux Demux. DWDM Mux Demux operates at C21-C60 (1530-1560nm) and the passband of the 1310 port is 1260-1360nm. For expanding CWDM wavelengthes, EXP can pass through the 1370-1510nm, 1570-1610nm wavelengths. Q: We are researching a solution with which we can efficiently connect two data center locations, Two pairs of fiber-optic cables are available via two different routes; we want to divide the following requirements into these two routes: 1st approach (illustration of what we at least need today) - 8 x 10G for site networking via Brocade VDX - 4 x 16G for SAN (Netapp Metrocluster) 2. Approach: (what we will probably need in the medium term) - The 4 SAN connections will be replaced by 4 * 40G (possibly also 4 * 100G) (IP metro cluster) - of the 8 * 10G only 2 * 10G will remain, but 4x40G may also come with 4x100G) A: Regarding your requirements, Arkoptics will have professional technical teams to provide tailored solutions for you. Our procedures are the following five steps: Design-Assembly-Configuration-Testing-Delivery. You can find more details of our solution cases by email our Chief Engineer via shawn@arkoptics.com . Q: Is it possible to have multiple 100G DWDM channels or is it limited to the single 40/100G using the 1310 port? If so please can you include links. A: Yes, this Mux can transmit multiple 100G DWDM directly with 100G Transponder/Muxponder. And the 100G signals can also be multiplexed with 10G signals, but in order to avoid crosstalk between 10G and 100G signals, please keep the interval of 5CH. Q: I need end to end channelization for 20+ 10/25G links over 2 dual link dark fiber SM connections. Does the mux can meet my requirements? A: Yes, it can surly meet your needs, the Mux supports 40 channels of any rate transmission. Q: When taking an existing 1310 link, how much dB loss would there be going through the DWDM? Specs say about 1.0dB. So two of these would drop the dB by 2? A: The passband insertion loss of one mux is about 4.5dB, and the passband insertion loss of two mux is 7.0dB. Similarly, 1310 port insertion loss of one mux is 1.0dB, therefore when two mux taking an existing 1310 link, the insertion loss of 1310 port is less than 2.0dB. This is because we are using Thin Film Filter rather than AWG. But the total insertion loss depends on your specific link. Q: Can these go up to 40kms? A: Yes, they can support 40km connection with 80km DWDM transceivers Q: Why does this DWDM only have C20- C59 or C21-C60 channels, and how do I use the C17-C20 DWDM modules? A: The channel band of this 40CH DWDM multiplexer is C21-C59, and the band range of the DWDM module from C17 to C20 is not in the range of C21-C59, so the DWDM module of C17-C20 cannot be selected. Q: If it would work to have 1 pair of 100Gb 1310nm optics Cisco QSFP-100G-LR4-S Compatible 100GBASE-LR4 QSFP28 Transceiver Module on the 1310 port on those DWDM shelves, does that interfere at all with the 40 channels of DWDM? A: 1310nm service signal will not interfere with DWDM 1528 ~ 1564nm service. If EDFA amplifier is not used in the optical fiber line, 1310nm and other DWDM channels service can be transmitted normally on 40CH DWDM Mux/Demux. Q: Did the mux contain lithium batteries? A: No, the 40 channel dwdm mux demux is a passive products without power and lithium batteries. Q: I'm working with a partner on upgrading one of our paths from CWDM to DWDM. We're looking at Ark DWDM 40 channel muxes. I'd like to understand a few things. 1. How does the 1310 port work. Primary question is probably does it reduce the number of available (40) channels? 2. Do some of the channels support higher speeds? A: The 1310nm port will not reduce the number of available(40) channels. As you may know, the wavelength of our C21-C60 DWDM Mux Demux is from 1560.61nm to 1529.55nm, while the 1310nm Port Pass Band Width is 1260nm~1360nm. So they can work well respectively without affecting each other. 2. The 1310nm port allows existing legacy 1310 traffic to be added, such as 1000Base LX/EX, 10G LR/ER and 40G/100G ER4/LR4. Q: I need to order the 40 channel DWDM Mux together with the DWDM SFP+80KM transceiver, should I buy the 50GHz SFP+ or 100GHz SFP+? A: This is 100GHz 40CH DWDM MUX and DEMUX, here suggest you choose the 100GHz transceiver with C20~C59, this link for your reference: Q: We want to do a 100gig optic using the 1310 port. Plus have the other channels of 10gig optics. Dual fiber, 20miles distance, for outdoor plant, the switch is cisco nexus switches. Could you help to design the project? A: I think the 40CH Mux is ideal for your project, you can connect the 100G module to the 1310nm port of Mux and 10G to the channel port of Mux. As for the complete project design, Shawn will send you a complete solution for your reference by email later.DWDM Mux Demux factory website:http://www.arkopticals.com/passive-multiplexer/dwdm-mux-demux/
