We need to give our builder our paint colors by Monday. We’re letting our kids pick colors for their bedrooms. If it were up to me, I’d paint the entire rest of the house gray, specifically BM Smoke Ember, because we had our kitchen and family room that color in our last house, and we loved it. In the past, we’ve done different colors in different rooms, and I’ve ended up loving very few of them.

H thinks it’s boring to paint the whole house gray, so he’s suggesting we paint the finished basement (extra spare bedroom, full bath, large rec/workout room) a different color, maybe a blue. I don’t want to hate it, but I get why he thinks it’s boring. Any suggestions on a good color (blue or otherwise) for a finished basement? We actually get a surprising amount of light down there between the door to the outside and the windows, but it is still a basement.

Or any general paint color tips/suggestions for new construction? Thank you!!

"The first step in choosing a color is determining the atmosphere you want to create in your home. Some people want a bright and cheerful orange summer, others like neutral beige shades, and others want coolness and gray. Analyze which side of the world the windows face and decide: do you want to make this room bright and bright or quiet, cozy, and with dimmed light.  Based on this, select the paint colors for the walls, floor, and ceiling. I also want to note that furniture rental portland services were very convenient for me during the repair since I could not decide what kind of furniture I wanted to see in my house, which helped me with the choice.
