Compromised uTorrent clients can be used to download a malicious torrent file. The malicious file is designed to embed a permanent backdoor and run when Windows 10 reboots, giving the attacker remote access to the operating system. Like all web applications , these clients can be compromised in various ways. For example, in recent years, multiple vulnerabilities related to directory traversal, privilege escalation and cross-site scripting have been identified, as shown in the figure below.
