Sorry for making you confused. I would like to explain the detailed functions here. For example, when you have a Lv.12 Gem, you still need to accumulated many gems to upgrade it to Lv.13. But during this process, the accumulated gems can not bring you attribute benefits. But for Lv.1 Crystal (equals to Lv.12 Gem), the process is divided into several stages, which means although the gems you accumulated are not enough to upgrade, but you could still enjoy the increasing attributes during different stages.

No, it can not be returned back. But when you have crystal, you no longer need gem. Because the upper limit of crystal is higher that of gem in game.

Yes, that is right. Crystal system is added to reduce the difficulty in upgrading high-level gem.

In game, when you put targeted gems to burnish, before confirming the bar will tell you how much progress it will add. Thank you for your advice, we will update this thread today.
