Title: Unusual Orchid
Here is something unusual and kinda rare! A white Grass-pink Orchid (Calopogon tuberosus). These are normally a bright pinkish/purple color. Here is what ODNR botanist Andrew Gibson had to say about it, "It’s not a true white form but a very very pale form. You can see some hints of pink here and there. I’ve seen true pure white Calopogon a time or two up north - it’s quite rare. Regardless, just a matter of gene expression with this one happening to be much more pale than normal. Wish I had a better or more fun answer…"

I noticed a bit of "ghosting" on this image straight out of the camera. First time I've noticed it with this set-up. Z8, 180-600mm at 600mm, ss320, f6.3. Shot from about 25 yards and highly cropped.

That is an interesting flower. Cedar Bog?

It would be helpful if you would allow the EXIF data to show. Shutter speed? Shot at 600mm?

That’s such a cool bloom. I’ve had similar surprises pop up from my indoor plants - sometimes you think it’s just leaves, then bam, wild flowers out of nowhere. Lighting can really mess with bloom timing, especially with store-bought orchids. I’ve had a few do weird things even months after bringing them home.
