Dress standards

As a spin off from the pyjamas in public thread, do you think dress standards across the board have dropped in recent years?   Pyjamas to the shops, no shoes, wide spread wearing of active wear etc..  I’m having a quiet day on my own, cleaning, getting ready for the week. Unshowered (it’s 1pm), leggings, singlet, cap, faux Birkenstock clog slip ons.  I feel I look a bit untidy but I’ve just been at the shops.  Once I got there, I saw many many people dressed like me, a woman wandering the aisles in a bikini, I counted 15 barefoot adults, 2 women in pyjamas (genuine pyjamas, not a matching set).  I ran into someone I knew and we both apologised for our appearance - she looked super orange/brown with fake tan developing. And then I’ve just received an email from our local yacht club reminding members of the dress standards.  (Before anyone screams privilege, 60% of members are social members and do not own a boat. It’s just a lovely river front location, with cheap food/drinks, for members).  Anyway this email was reminding people that the club has dress standards and they needed to be fully dressed and dressed appropriately.  No bare chests, shoes required, no swimwear,  no pyjamas, no high vis, no active wear.     Are standards of what’s acceptable dropping?  Should we care what others wear?  Where is your line?  Would you go out for a meal/drinks in your pyjamas or active wear?  Should dress standards be abolished? Wear whatever, wherever..  no differentiation between work and not, formal occasions and not?
