jewellery question - wedding bands

My DH and I are finally ordering new wedding bands. I took mine off about 5 years ago for a CAT scan and couldn't get it back on and DH's split in half about 6 months later (we joked that maybe we should be worried).

For some reason, we never got around to getting new until now. I think I may have even posted for help here when DH's first broke.

Anyhoo, the jeweller suggested yellow gold is trending. I've always liked the subtlety of white gold. DH prefers yellow gold and will for sure get it, but I'm kind of on the fence.

I'm also getting a vintage ring reworked into "the engagement ring I never had" to wear with it, so it would be a large chunk of yellow to have on my hand if I go that direction.

What would you fashion mavens suggest? white? yellow? a combination?

This is similar to what I'm looking at having made for the ring with the stones if that is any help.
