I’ve been thinking of picking up the Italeri 1/72 CH-53E Super Stallion kit for my next scale model project. I've seen mixed opinions about the quality and fit of the parts, especially around the rotor assembly. Has anyone built it recently and can share how the build went? Would love to know if it’s a good kit out of the box or if it needs a lot of work to look right.

I actually built that kit not long ago and it turned out better than I expected. The level of detail is decent for the scale, especially in the cockpit and rotor area, though you’ll probably want to dry-fit everything before gluing — the parts alignment can be a bit off in spots. If you enjoy detail painting and don’t mind a little extra sanding here and there, it’s a fun and rewarding build.
