I'm contemplating re-vamping our dining room/ second reception as it's dominated by a giant (10 seater when extended ) table.
I do Christmas every year and maybe 4 dinner parties a year but otherwise seems to be a laundry holder.

I'd like to get rid and have a small 4 seater for the family and get back to eating at the table (whole other thread in that topic!) but would i regret it and how would I host ?
Was thinking of trestle table to keep in shed to drag out ?!!
And have "bring a chair " parties?!! I need space back. Has anyone done this to a dining room and regretted it?

I see it's been a while since you posted, but I was wondering—did you end up finding a new home for the table or come up with a creative way to repurpose it? I'm in a similar spot with a large piece of furniture that's beautiful but just too big for the room. Curious what worked for you or if you found any clever solutions.

I replaced my bulky table with a Shoe Storages and it made such a difference. The space feels brighter and more open, and it’s much easier to move around. I was worried it wouldn't seat enough people, but it comfortably fits four, sometimes six. They delivered fast too, which was a bonus.
