Bit off-topic, but any other dads here ever looked into braided crib bumpers? My wife suggested one for our newborn and I wasn't sure if it was just another nursery gimmick.

Mate, I thought the same at first!  I'm more used to talking about torque than textiles! but we ended up getting one from https://kari-studio.com/collections/braided-crib-bumper and honestly, it’s been brilliant. Super soft, well-made, and looks really nice in the crib. Our little one sleeps calmer (which means we sleep better too win-win!). It also adds a nice cozy touch without being bulky or stuffy.
