Sodium phosphinate/Sodium hypophosphite

(part-time lurker/first time poster)
I have inherited the chemical store from the last lab tech, and I have come across a quite old bottle of Sodium hypophosphite, also known as Sodium phosphinate, with a big texta cross over the label.
I am having trouble finding out any information about what it is. The teachers don't know about it, Risk Assess does not have an entry on it, and there is no MSDS on site for it.
Could anyone shed some light on what I've got? I'd like to just get rid of it, considering no-one knows about it. Just want to make sure I'm doing it right.

Sodium hypophosphite is the sodium salt of hypophosphorous acid and is often encountered as the monohydrate, NaPO2H2·H2O. It is a solid at room temperature, appearing as odorless white crystals. It is soluble in water, and easily absorbs moisture from the air.

I had a similar setup and found that organizing storage was way easier once I got proper modutek.com. They make it simpler to move things around safely, and I can group chemicals by type or usage. My older chemical cart was just a clunky trolley, but switching to purpose-built chemical carts changed how efficiently I work in the lab.
