Does the unit type affects battle?

As the title says, will cav deal more damage to ranged, and infantry more to cav etc?

there is no where in the guide that mention it, so i am curious if it does make a difference?

I can see, but they dont state who are they good against.. it will be good if we can click on the unity type icon and let us see what sort of unit type it is good against? It will make fighting Instant much easier..

You can see the unit type like a small picture. Like zhurong is a cavalry coz there is a picture of a horse there
