Truss in truss stage aluminum structure refers to truss beam, which is a lattice type of beam structure. Truss structure is often used in public buildings such as large span factories, exhibition halls, stadiums and bridges. As it is mostly used in the roof structure of buildings, trusses are also often called roof trusses.
Truss stage aluminum main structural features
Truss stage aluminum is mainly loaded by one-way tension and compression. By reasonable arrangement of upper and lower chords and webs, it can adapt to the internal bending moment and shear distribution of the structure. Because of the horizontal direction of the tensile and compressive internal forces to achieve their own balance, the entire structure does not produce horizontal thrust on the support. The structure arrangement is flexible and has a very wide application range. Compared with the solid web beam (i.e. the beam we generally see), the joist beam, in terms of bending resistance, achieves greater bending strength with the same amount of material because the tensile and compressive sections are concentrated at the upper and lower ends, which increases the internal force arms. In terms of shear resistance, the shear force can be transferred to the bearing gradually through the reasonable arrangement of webs. In this way, whether in bending or shear, the truss structure can give full play to the material strength and thus is suitable for roof structures of various spans of buildings. More importantly, it also converts the complex stress state inside the solid web beam under transverse bending into a simple tensile and compressive stress state inside the joist members, which enables us to visualize the distribution and transmission of forces and facilitates the change and combination of the structure.
