If you’re on the verge of completing your undergraduate degree, your focus starts drifting towards what your next steps are going to be. In case you’ve made up your mind to pursue higher studies, then the next question you’re going to be asking yourself is, “Am I going to study abroad or not?” and of course where to find ecology coursework help (if you chose to study this field). Well, you’re not alone; there are millions of students asking themselves the very same thing!

World over, there seems to be a mass migration of international students, and the major countries sending out students are within Asia and include China, India, and South Korea. India is the second biggest nation sending out students to all parts of the globe, which comes as no surprise.

True, there’s no place like home but pursuing higher studies abroad is a different ball game altogether. Of course it comes at a cost and you have to leave behind home comforts but the pluses easily outweigh the minuses. Some stand-out benefits of a foreign degree are listed below along with the inevitable minuses.

Freedom to Research!

Studying abroad will give you access to some of the best facilities and study materials and expose you to a different level of teaching altogether. You will have endless opportunities to conduct research in topics of your choice and be given financial support depending on the university you choose. You may even have opportunities to work side by side with some of the best researchers from around the globe. The problem with research in Indian institutions is the lack of resources. Many times, the research guides seem to be problematic, disagreeing on individual decisions and views, and restricting overall freedom in areas of research.

In the Employer’s Eyes

Education abroad will give you the best multicultural experience you could ask for. Mixing with students from countries all around the globe, relishing foreign cuisine, and learning new languages and foreign cultures could all open doors for you in ways you never realized. In the eyes of the employer, a student who has studied abroad has higher tolerance to social differences and has a better capacity to handle difficulties and socialize than one who hasn’t. Higher studies abroad will have way more positive impact on your employability than higher studies in India. There’s no denying this!

In Theory!

Academic programs offered abroad will be more practical and less theoretical. Many programs even offer international students opportunities to gain practical experience through internships in the course of the programs. Generally, programs offered in India are based more on theory and hardly give students a chance to even get an insight into the practical side of the field.

Part-Time Work

Studying abroad can be an expensive affair but you can lessen your financial burden with part-time work as you study.

The UK: The UK allows international students to work part-time for up to 10 hours a week. Those with immigration permission can work for even up to 20 hours during term time.
Australia: International students can work part-time for 40 hours per fortnight while studying.
New Zealand: International students can opt for part-time work, as they pursue their studies. They can work for up to 20 hours weekly if they are full-time students studying at an NZQA-approved educational provider. Students can also work full time in their vacation.
USA: International students can generally consider on-campus employment after their first year of study.
Part-time employment back home would hardly earn you enough to compensate for the amount that you would be spending on higher studies.
