Today's most demanding high-performance electrical and technical applications are possible thanks in large part to innovative thermal management technologies. In applications where power output is high and space is limited, cold plates are critical due to their combination of high thermal conductivity and compact design. At Winshare Thermal, we focus on providing the most efficient solutions for electrical waste heat transfer.
What is liquid cold plate?
Liquid cold plates are responsible for transferring heat from surfaces with high thermal loads to the fluids used in liquid cooling systems. The performance of these components is critical to the overall effectiveness of the fluid system.
How do Liquid Cold Plates Work?
Cold plates are typically made of metal with flow paths machined into them to allow heat transfer fluids to flow through. As the plates absorb electrical waste heat, they use liquid cooling to dissipate it through the flow paths. The flow paths inside the cold plate can be machined into a variety of shapes and sizes that allow the cold plate to absorb and transfer large amounts of heat more efficiently. The effective heat transfer coefficient of a cold plate depends on the available surface area in the flow path, the fluid used, the flow rate of the fluid, and the material used to manufacture the cold plate.
Winshare Thermal offers a cold plate design solution service that provides customers with the best cold plate solution for any equipment, application based on a thorough analysis of the system and its requirements. Many of our customers have been surprised to find that we can not only improve the design they might have thought of, but also provide higher efficiency and cost saving benefits than they expected.
What are the types of liquid cold plate?
Liquid cold plates can be broadly classified into four categories:
  Brazing Plate
  Copper Tube Plate
  Flame Welding Plate
  Friction Stir Welded Plate
Brazing Plate
Vacuum brazing is to use a solder with a melting point lower than the melting point of the parent material in a vacuum state. At a temperature lower than the melting point of the parent metal but higher than the melting point of the solder, the liquid solder is used to wet, spread and fill the surface of the parent metal. Seam is a welding method for connecting parts. Vacuum brazed cold plates use this principle to realize the connection of aluminum base plate, composite brazing material plate and aluminum cover plate.
Copper Tube Plate
Winshare Thermal's thermal design and thermal management engineers have rich experience in water-cooling system research and development and water-cooling plate process production. They can provide a full range of liquid-cooled heat dissipation solutions, and provide you with liquid-cooled/water-cooled plate thermal design, structural design, and water channels for free Connected water cooling system assembly design and one-stop supporting services.
Flame Welding Plate
Liquid cold plate treated with flame welding technology allows for better temperature control. By controlling the gas flame, FLAME WELDING allows for better control of the temperature of the metal in the weld zone. Achieve better welding results. Flame welding can also be applied to filler and flux materials to weld dissimilar metals. It can make the liquid cold plate in the design of the material can be used more diverse, to achieve better cooling effect.
Friction Stir Welded Plate
Friction stir welded water cold plate: use a stirring head with a special shape of hard stirring finger to rotate and insert the welded body, and generate heat by friction with the welded body, through friction stir, and at the same time, combine the extrusion of the welding seam by the stirring head , The joint metal is in a plastic-melted state, the stirring finger moves forward along the welding direction while rotating, and a dense metal bond is formed under the combined action of heat and machine to realize the connection of materials.
Different types of cold plates have different designs, you can browse our Liquid Cold Plate category to see more different types of cold plate designs, if you need to find liquid cold palte solution, welcome to contact us, we will have professional staff to provide you with customized solutions.
